Rome's Best Travel Routes

Curated routes. Authentic stories. The real city behind the postcards.

How to Use the Interactive Maps

Each itinerary opens a downloadable custom map and printable route description. You don’t need to download any special app—everything works directly from your phone or computer.

Follow these steps to make the most of it:

  • Add your desired route to the cart and pay at checkout.
  • You’ll see the full route, marked stops, and detours.
  • The map works in real time—you can use your GPS position to follow the route as you walk.
  • On the map page, click the three vertical dots pastedGraphic_1.png on the header.
  • Choose “Download KML.”
  • Then open the file in your Google Maps (KML), Apple Maps / GPX Viewer (GPX), or any other maps service.
  • On the map page, click the three vertical dots pastedGraphic_1.png on the header and choose “Print map” to have a physical copy. This lets you keep the route even when you don’t have Wi-Fi or mobile data.

For Google Maps (iOS & Android):

  • If you use Google Maps, sign in before importing files to save routes easily.
  • Tap “Open in Google Maps.”
  • The itinerary will appear as a walking route with pins marking each stop.
  • You can zoom in, switch to satellite view, or use Street View to preview corners before you get there.
  • You can also download the map offline—essential if you don’t want to depend on data roaming.

For Apple Maps (iOS):

  • On iPhones, GPX files open best in GPX Viewer, Apple Maps, or Maps.me.
  • Tap “Open in Maps.”
  • You’ll see all the stops laid out in sequence.
  • Use the “Directions” button to start real-time navigation.

Privacy & access

  • The maps are not public—only people with the direct link (or QR codes) can view them.
  • You can open them anytime, even after your trip.

📝 Local Note: These maps are handmade paths—not algorithms. They’re meant to guide you like a friend walking beside you, not to rush you from place to place. Use them as a compass, not a schedule.

If you’re a planner, you can open the maps before your trip, mark cafés or restaurants nearby, and save everything under your account. If you’re more spontaneous, you can just scan and go, following the city’s rhythm. Both approaches work—the important thing is that you won’t get lost in the labyrinth of alleys and piazzas.
